The 2018 A-Team Day for Choice at the Capitol was held on Wednesday, March 21st, with NO WEATHER ISSUES! A-Team Wisconsin had over 100 advocates and over 40 legislative visits yesterday. This is very powerful as the Lt. Governor shared, ”A-Team WI is passionate about its mission and the best advocates at the Capitol!” The A-Team Members presented two “Asks” to the legislators:
Stop Time Limits for Pre-Vocational Services – Members requested that Legislators contact DHS through phone call/email and request that DHS produce and submit a clarification memo to the Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) and IRIS Consultant Agencies (ICAs) stating that they should not be imposing time limits on individuals who choose to participate in prevocational center-based services.
Support Wisconsin Federal Congressional Members - Members requested that Legislators support Federal Congressional Members in stopping the requirement in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act H.R. 803 for Youth under the age of 25 to fail multiple times in competitive integrated employment before having the right to choose to participate in pre-vocational training services.
