July 15, 2025 - Foundations of Dual Diagnosis
Join us for an essential introduction to Dual Diagnosis—the intersection of intellectual and
developmental disabilities and mental health conditions. This session will explore the
definition and scope of dual diagnosis, the impact of diagnostic overshadowing, and the
critical connections between medical and mental health. You'll also get an overview of
common mental health conditions and how they present in people with IDD.

August 13, 2025 - Recognizing Trauma and Providing Trauma-informed Support
Discover how trauma impacts people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and
mental health conditions. Learn the foundations of trauma-informed support, the
importance of trauma screening, and the core principles of trauma-informed therapy. This
session will provide practical tools to recognize trauma responses and create supportive,
healing environments.
Training Session Two: 12pm-1pm CT
September 5, 2025 - Improving Health Equity for Those with Dual Diagnosis
Enhance your understanding of the challenges faced by people with dual diagnosis in
accessing equitable healthcare. This session will cover barriers to quality care, the role of
social determinants of health, and strategies for supporting effective healthcare visits. Equip
yourself to advocate for better outcomes.
Training Session Three: 12pm-1pm CT
Training fee: $109 per person for ALL THREE sessions - attendees MUST participate in all three to earn micro credentials.

Training audience: This training series is relevant to a wide range of disabilities services professionals. It will be especially helpful for team leads, supervisors, and upcoming leaders that wish to expand their knowledge in the profession.
