Margaret Winn from Lakeside Packaging Plus, Inc. invited DSPN to be involved in a meeting with LPP and IRIS staff from the Winnebago County area that occurred this week. Jeff Kaphengst attended the meeting and shared copies of Wisconsin Joint Resolution 51, the Employment First Act 178, and the April 12, 2018, DHS Memo Regarding Prevocational Services in LTC from Curtis Cunningham. The group discussed choice, lack of time limits in prevocational services, and the need for member CIE goals in their plans in order to continue in prevocational services to work toward their CIE goal. The group agreed that continued education of individuals, guardians, providers and IRIS staff related to the relationship between CIE and prevocational services is needed.
