Whether your child suffers from ADD, ADHD or a mental or physical disorder it can be tough as a parent to go through their condition with them. Sometimes there is an overwhelming sense of emotion that a parent feels or sometimes there is just a need to have someone there that supports, understands and listens. This is where a parental support group can really come in handy.
Parental support groups of parents that get together to offer support, love and knowledge to each other. A parenting group is especially important when it comes to parenting a special needs child because of the amount of energy, emotions and responsibility that comes with parenting them.

Online. The Internet has taken over so much of our daily lives and that includes support groups. There are hundreds of Facebook and online forums that are devoted to helping parents support each other while parenting a child with special needs. The best part of online support groups is the support is available almost 24/7, which can come in very handy to any type of parent.
Doctor’s Referral. Many pediatricians know of local support groups that might meet once a month to support parents of special needs children. In fact, many doctor’s have pamphlets or brochures within their office for each support group. These groups are usually run through the local community center or hospital and can help parents of special needs child in a number of ways. Besides giving helpful knowledge to the parents they can offer the support and encouragement that parents need while they are dealing with this tough situation.
